DT, literacy, art and a little science too!

For literacy, we have been looking at language poetry. We created our own poems in the style of Wendy Cope and then designed and made pop up books to present them in. Some children even used their knowledge of forces and made springs for their books.

Everyone worked incredibly hard, making models and then improving on their designs, resulting in these fantastic books.

Watch this video to find out all about magnets, how they're all around us and used in all sorts of things, from roller coaster rides to computers.

LITERACY - WORLD BOOK DAY

For world book day, we looked at how Roald Dahl creates such amazing characters. We read a chapter from the Witches and studied his use of descriptive language. We then created calligrams, from his description of the High Witch, brainstormed ideas for our own horrid character - the worst teacher - and tried our hand at illustrating in a Quentin Blake style. Here is some of our work.
