ICT - Exciting News

Next week we are going to learn to use our class email. This means that you will be able to send emails from school. You could let your family know when you are star of the week, before you see them. Email home learning to me from home or write a blog and send it. Just like I've done! How exciting!

SCIENCE - exploring materials

As part of our Hansel & Gretel topic, we looked at which materials are used to make buildings and the things that go in them. We then explored making our own, making sure the structure was strong enough to support the other materials. Just like a real building needs to be.

NUMERACY - symmetry skills

Having learnt about lines of symmetry in numeracy, the children then applied their knowledge to creating symmetrical patterns. Can you work out which ones have 1 line of symmetry, which have 2 and which one isn't quite symmetrical?

ART - STILL LIFE PAINTING.

Following on from our lesson on how to mix secondary colours from primary colours, we learnt how to sketch fruits. We then mixed our colours using only red, blue & yellow (with white to create different shades) looking carefully at the apples and pears to try and get the right match.

Look at these fabulous still life pictures.Well done year 3, you did really well, drawing and mixing colours independently.
